Role Overview

The Bather in our Olive Branch location is essential for ensuring a safe, pleasant grooming experience for pets and their owners. This role involves washing, drying, and prepping pets for grooming while maintaining a sanitary and organized grooming environment. The Bather also upholds high standards of animal care and customer service, aligning with Hollywood Feed’s core principle of "Do what is right by the customer." The hourly wage ranges from $15.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and dry pets using proper kennel dryer protocols.
• Sanitize pet tubs thoroughly after use, including the front and sides.
• Maintain cleanliness of mats by washing and drying them.
• Refill shampoo and conditioner dispensers.
• Wash, dry, and fold laundry items.
• Ensure kennels used by pets remain clean.
• Mop and squeegee floors around and beneath kennel dryers.
• Dispose of garbage and sanitize bins.
• Wipe down shampoo containers and rinse shelves.
• Maintain cleanliness of windows, towel racks, and dryer storage units.
• Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Have a robust understanding of store products to meet both pet and customer needs effectively.
• Maintain clear and respectful communication with customers, supervisors, and team members.
• Work efficiently both independently and as part of the team.
• Unload and stock store deliveries.
• Learn and operate the Hollywood Feed POS system including opening/closing registers, creating customer profiles, processing transactions, and performing cycle counts.
• Participate in all scheduled company training and educational sessions.
• Carry out weekly store maintenance such as cleaning restrooms, sweeping, mopping, dusting, arranging displays, and updating prices.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to use grooming tools such as clippers, shears, and scissors.
• Strong dedication to animal care and their owners.
• Effective verbal communication and attentive listening skills.
• Demonstrated customer service and sales capabilities.
• Familiarity with store products or willingness to learn rapidly.
• Capability to operate or quickly master the POS system.
• Valid driver’s license and a minimum of two years driving experience, including learner permit period.

Physical Demands

• Aged 18 years or older.
• Ability to lift dogs of various sizes for bathing and grooming.
• Capacity to bend or kneel repeatedly for kennel placement or grooming tasks.
• Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds overhead and restock shelves multiple times.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting motions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8–10 hours daily).
• Capable of climbing ladders frequently to access products.
• Adherence to Safe Driving Policy and willing to drive company delivery vehicles.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
