Role Overview

We are looking for a full-time Barista to join Sophia Specialty Coffee Shop onsite in Dubai. The Barista will be responsible for crafting and serving specialty coffee and other beverages following standardized recipes to maintain consistent quality. Duties include operating coffee-making equipment, preparing light snack foods, ensuring cleanliness and organization of the work area, restocking inventory, welcoming customers, taking orders, processing payments, and providing attentive and friendly customer service. The role demands learning the coffee menu thoroughly, explaining flavor profiles to customers, adhering to health and safety regulations, and supporting colleagues during busy periods.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in core Barista techniques including espresso extraction, milk frothing, and fundamental coffee brewing methods.
• Competency in preparing simple café food items while maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to foster a warm and respectful guest environment.
• Effective communication abilities to accurately take orders and coordinate with team members.
• Previous hospitality or café experience is an advantage.
• Physical ability to stand for long durations and perform well in a dynamic, high-volume setting.
• Basic numeracy skills to manage cash handling and operate POS systems.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of additional languages commonly spoken in Dubai is beneficial.
