Role Overview

Based at our Grocery Service Centre near Liverpool, the Bakery Operative’s main responsibility is operating bakery machinery safely and efficiently per instructions. Working collaboratively within a team, the role focuses on achieving production targets, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and upholding quality standards. Further, the jobholder is encouraged to seek development opportunities and actively engage in knowledge-sharing among colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commit to a Safety First culture by adhering to Allied Bakeries’ internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain product quality to meet required specifications consistently.
  • Contribute toward fulfilling the bakery production plan.
  • Identify personal training and development needs and participate proactively in learning activities, such as one-on-one development sessions.
  • Engage in sharing best practices within manufacturing to improve operations collectively.

Desired Candidate Attributes

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong awareness of Health and Food Safety regulations.
  • Competency in basic numeracy, reading, and recording information accurately.

Advantageous Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience and understanding of food hygiene, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ABSS food safety standards.
  • Familiarity with baking processes.
  • Possession of a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (e.g., CIEH Level 2), IOSH, or equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or engineering comprehension.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Computer literacy with the ability to interact with Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens.
