Primary Duties

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and assisting them throughout the store.
• Manage daily order checks, create production timelines, and prioritize special and future orders effectively.
• Prepare, bake, fry, and proof various baked goods, while managing inventory from freezer and cooler.
• Monitor product freshness and remove items past their sell-by dates; anticipate demand for current and future days.
• Inspect incoming deliveries for quality and correct order fulfillment.
• Handle invoicing and properly stock products as per manager instructions.
• Ensure accurate signage and labels on promotional items; monitor the department for safety compliance.
• Maintain bakery equipment by understanding its use and addressing maintenance needs.
• Lead and supervise bakery clerks by providing direction and guidance.
• Maintain product displays, refresh shelves, and remove outdated inventory.
• Order necessary supplies and merchandise following managerial direction.
• Prepare staff schedules and ensure proper coverage when the Bakery Manager is unavailable.
• Follow sanitation protocols and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Answer phone calls promptly and assist customers with product inquiries and orders.
• Adhere to company dress code, hygiene standards, and departmental policies.
• Contribute to additional tasks or projects as needed.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Between six months to one year experience in a similar or related bakery role is desirable.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Frequent standing and walking during shifts, including food service and order fulfillment tasks.
• Safe use of sharp kitchen tools where required.
• Exposure to heat and burn hazards from cooking and baking equipment.
• Responsibilities may include operation of delivery vehicles, compliant with DOT regulations.
• Repetitive motions such as standing, walking, reaching, and bending involved in daily duties.

The role involves working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with exposure to flour, temperature fluctuations, noise, dampness, vibrations, and occasional cleaning chemicals. Safety training will be provided to support a safe workplace.

Additional Information

Applicants must be at least 18 years old due to overnight shift requirements. Employment depends on passing a pre-employment drug screening.
