About the Team

Our team at ByteDance builds and maintains the cloud-native infrastructure that supports all products across the company. We focus on pioneering technologies such as Kubernetes cluster management, optimizing runtime resources, multi-cloud and multi-cluster strategies, and ensuring cloud-native infrastructure reliability. Notably, our team has contributed to open-source projects like Kubebrain and Katalyst while driving innovative research on resource pooling and elasticity technologies.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance large-scale Kubernetes clusters to maximize performance and scalability.
• Architect systems designed for ultra-large Kubernetes clusters with a focus on robustness and efficiency.
• Continuously boost performance and stability of control systems used in data-intensive and machine learning environments.
• Define and refine Service Level Objectives (SLOs) specifically tailored for Kubernetes clusters.
• Conduct detailed latency analysis to locate bottlenecks and implement practical improvements in production.
• Create and advance observability tools and infrastructures to facilitate quicker issue diagnosis.
• Develop data warehouses and leverage data-driven methods to fine-tune cluster functionality.

Candidate Qualifications

Applicants must be completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar fields.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with cloud-native open-source development or contributions.
• Hands-on experience working with containerized applications from internships, educational projects, or personal initiatives.
• Knowledge of observability frameworks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or distributed tracing systems.
• Understanding of big data or machine learning workflows operating within Kubernetes environments.

Additional Details

Candidates should be available to onboard by the end of the current year and must clearly state their availability and graduation date in their application.
