Position Summary

The company is looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to contribute to the evolution of blockchain interoperability. The role involves developing reliable and scalable backend infrastructure that supports LayerZero's innovative web3 products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build complex distributed backend systems.
• Write maintainable, well-tested, and scalable codebases.
• Work proactively in a dynamic startup environment, independently taking initiative to resolve issues.
• Manage backend systems that support high transactional volumes worth tens of billions daily.
• Continually learn and adopt new technologies and design methodologies.
• Navigate across diverse technical layers without dependence on specific tools, focusing on problem-solving.
• Effectively communicate complex technical ideas clearly and concisely.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or comparable practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in backend development with scalable, production-level systems.
• Strong conviction in system design and architecture, balanced with openness to collaborative development.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for deployment, management, and scaling of applications.
• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as TypeScript.
• Familiarity with workflow management engines.
• Prior exposure to blockchain technology, smart contracts, or decentralized finance is highly advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a base salary range from 120000 to 200000 USD per year, depending on expertise and qualifications. LayerZero provides comprehensive total compensation packages that may include equity, medical benefits, financial incentives, and other perks tailored to the role.
