Proton operates profitably and independently without venture capital control, employing over 500 individuals from top-tier academic and industry backgrounds across more than 50 countries. - Strong background developing scalable backend solutions using Python or PHP.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SQL databases and queries.
- Solid understanding of HTTP and RESTful web services, including both API development and consumption.
- Experience integrating diverse internal systems with commercial off-the-shelf products.
- A growth mindset with curiosity and passion for continuous learning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships with multiple stakeholders and influencing across organizational levels.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects while delivering software that meets quality, schedule, and budget targets.
- Previous experience or familiarity with marketing technology platforms or tools is highly desirable.
Benefits
- Engage in meaningful work that directly impacts millions who trust Proton for privacy protection, operating independently of advertisers, conflicting investors, or government influence.
- Collaborate with a diverse and highly talented team from prestigious institutions and organizations worldwide.
- Access to appropriate hardware and software resources to facilitate top performance.
- Robust learning and development opportunities ensuring rapid career growth and real ownership from the outset.
- Comprehensive employee benefits including health coverage, retirement plans, paid leave, and wellness programs.
- Stock options granting employees ownership stakes and shared success in the company’s growth.
- In-person collaboration in offices located in Geneva, Zürich, Barcelona, London, and other cities to foster teamwork.
- Daily office-provided meals and snacks to support focus and productivity.
- Coverage for commuting costs including public transport, biking, or parking allowances.
- Flexible working arrangements allowing ownership of schedules prioritizing results over fixed hours.

The company promotes equal opportunities and a culture of open dialogue, continuous learning, and mutual respect. Reasonable adjustments are available throughout the hiring process upon request.
