Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic digital team at the Commerzone IT Tech Park in Yerwada, Pune. This position involves developing and maintaining the backend engines powering our cutting-edge casino platform. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience and demonstrate leadership in technical discussions and decision-making within software development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement backend functionality conforming to established coding standards and design patterns.
• Create unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability.
• Participate in and contribute to code reviews, ensuring best practices in performance, security, and efficiency.
• Document technical details and maintain comprehensive product documentation.
• Collaborate closely with partners and development teams to define project requirements and finalize designs.
• Detect and resolve performance issues impacting software operations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong proficiency in Java programming with at least 4 years of commercial experience.
• Disciplined and methodical approach to software testing.
• Deep understanding of software design patterns and practical application.
• Hands-on experience with Java Spring Framework, Guice, or equivalent dependency injection frameworks.
• Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins and Docker.
• Ability to critically review peer code focusing on performance, security, and maintainability.
• Comfort and skill in leading technical discussions and addressing client needs.
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Competent in Linux/Unix operating systems for development and deployment.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Good grasp of enterprise software architecture, especially Java EE and Java versions 8 and above.
• Mathematical knowledge including probability and combinatorics is advantageous.
• Understanding of enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with Maven build automation tool.
• Working familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
• Proven experience in leading technical decisions for teams, products, or projects.
• Optional familiarity with Typescript and Scala.
• Experience with deploying and managing Java Servlet containers such as Tomcat.
