Role Overview

We seek an experienced Backend Developer with between 4 to 6 years of professional experience dedicated to designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-throughput backend systems. The successful candidate will leverage Java (versions 17 to 21) and Spring Boot (3.2+) in their daily work and mentor junior developers while enhancing our system architectures and adhering to best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and preserve scalable server-side applications using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns to solve complex problems effectively.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement efficient, scalable solutions.
• Design and refine database architectures, optimize SQL queries, and manage indexing and stored procedures.
• Utilize various AWS cloud services including EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudWatch to deploy and monitor applications.
• Contribute to microservices-based system designs and develop event-driven architectures.
• Improve application performance and reliability via profiling, caching strategies, and fine-tuning.
• Implement and uphold robust security protocols including authentication and authorization mechanisms like OAuth2 and JWT.
• Lead code reviews, promote coding standards, and guide less experienced developers.
• Engage in automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows, and DevOps practices.
• Remain current with emerging technologies and best industry methodologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 4 to 6 years of solid backend development experience primarily with Java.
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot, REST API development, and microservices architecture.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns such as Singleton, Factory, Strategy, and Observer.
• Advanced skills in SQL, database schema design, transaction management, indexing techniques, and ORM frameworks like Hibernate/JPA.
• Practical experience with AWS cloud services.
• Familiarity with performance tuning methods, including multi-threading, asynchronous programming, and caching.
• Understanding of security best practices encompassing OAuth2, JWT, encryption, API security, and OWASP standards.
• Experience working with message broker technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and collaborative working skills.
• Proven capability in mentoring and guiding junior team members.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and distributed systems engineering.
• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Redis.
• Hands-on skills with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools like ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch.
• Experience preparing API documentation with tools like Swagger or OpenAPI.
• Insight into analytics pipelines and advanced data processing frameworks.
