  • Handle Unity Catalog configurations such as metastores, catalogs, schemas, and define data access control mechanisms.
  • Setup and manage clusters, SQL warehouses, policies for clusters, and scheduled jobs.
  • Integrate Databricks with various AWS services: IAM for identity management, S3 for storage, VPC networking, KMS for key management, monitoring through CloudWatch and CloudTrail, Secrets Manager for secure credentials, and manage PrivateLink configurations.
  • Oversee platform health monitoring, cost management, and lead incident, change, and service-request management processes.
  • Design and implement automation for deployment and infrastructure operations through CI/CD pipelines and scripting.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in cloud data platforms, infrastructure, DevOps, or production environment administration.
  • Proven hands-on expertise administering Databricks environments hosted on AWS.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including IAM, S3, EC2, VPC, KMS, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with Spark, Delta Lake, and query languages including SQL.
  • Experience managing incident, problem, and change management within production settings, including being part of on-call rotations.
