Job Overview

As an Automotive Technician at Yutong Bus & Coach located in Kingston, Jamaica, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles, ensuring high-quality service and effective communication with customers. This role demands a strong grasp of mechanical and electrical aspects of vehicle maintenance, with additional emphasis on continuous skill enhancement and adherence to company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repairs, routine maintenance, and roadside rescue operations while accurately logging maintenance activities.
• Ensure repairs meet quality standards and achieve a high rate of first-time fixes.
• Engage proactively with clients during vehicle delivery to understand their requirements and offer tailored solutions, collaborating with team members as needed.
• Participate actively in company-led skill development programs, including training sessions and technical exchanges, aimed at improving proficiency and securing relevant certifications.
• Carry out any additional service assignments as delegated by the company.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior experience in bus repairs or after-sales vehicle service is essential.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle components, capable of independently conducting inspections, diagnosing faults, and executing repairs.
• Fluent in English or Spanish to communicate effectively.
• Holding a valid Category 1 or Category 2 registered electrician license issued by the Jamaica Government Electrical Regulator (GER) is preferred.
