Job Summary

The Auto Body Prepper is responsible for preparing vehicles to ensure the highest quality finish in each refinish job. This role involves sanding, masking, priming, and surface preparation according to insurance guidelines, working collaboratively with the team to meet performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by masking, priming, and applying top coats.
• Apply primers, sealers, base coats, color coats, and clear coats accurately.
• Use hand and power tools for prepping surfaces.
• Detect and address any imperfections or contaminants on vehicle surfaces.
• Assess bodywork to guarantee a superior paint finish.
• Consistently perform tasks to high standards, enhancing shop productivity and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction (NPS).

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 3 years of experience as an Auto Body Prepper.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Capability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Possession of personal tools.
• Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• Physical ability to frequently bend, crouch, reach, handle tools, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a post-secondary program in Auto Body Refinishing is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range: $70,000 to $100,000, depending on skills, education, and experience.
