Associate SOC L1 Analyst

Job Overview

The Associate SOC L1 Analyst is tasked with overseeing cybersecurity systems and efficiently triaging alerts to facilitate rapid incident responses and optimize detection capabilities. This role requires a strong foundational technical understanding of cybersecurity systems and a keen interest in advancing expertise within this domain. Candidates should be knowledgeable about diverse technologies and stay informed about emerging industry threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Regularly monitor cybersecurity tools and SIEM platforms to detect potential security incidents.
• Prioritize and assess security alerts to enable quick and effective incident handling.
• Conduct investigations into security incidents utilizing analytical and logical reasoning abilities.
• Analyze network traffic based on TCP/IP protocols and review event logs for signs of anomalies.
• Contribute to automation efforts within security solutions to enhance detection efficiency and effectiveness.
• Keep updated on new cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, exploits, and mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications

• At least two years of professional experience in a SOC environment, working with SIEM platforms, or in automating security solutions.
• Proven ability to triage and manage security events.
• Strong analytical thinking and investigative skills.
• Proficient understanding of both Windows and Unix operating systems.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles.
• Experience analyzing TCP/IP network traffic and security event logs.
• Familiarity with operating systems, network designs, and system architectures.
• Awareness of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and appropriate responses.
• Hands-on experience with Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work in shift-based schedules.
