Job description
Role Overview
We seek a communications professional with PR agency experience who grasps brand perspectives, agency pitching methods, and newsroom decision-making on newsworthy content.
PR Ecosystem and Brand Interaction
- Act as the main liaison between StrongYes Media and PR agencies, corporate communications teams, and brand storytellers.
- Review, categorize, and assess incoming brand pitches, announcements, and story concepts.
- Guide agencies on StrongYes's editorial boundaries, preferred pitching protocols, and non-acceptable submissions.
- Enhance StrongYes's standing as a credible, fair, and influential newsroom within the PR community.
Story Development and Pitch Refinement
- Transform raw PR inputs into editorially sound story ideas.
- Detect trends such as recruitment, leadership changes, AI workplace integration, policy shifts, and corporate dynamics among pitches.
- Work collaboratively with editors to determine which subjects advance as news, analysis, or opinion.
- Reject promotional, weak, or irrelevant proposals vigorously.
Brand Exposure and Newsroom Positioning
- Establish StrongYes as a premier platform for workplace and employment news, AI & DeepTech developments, corporate activities in the Middle East, leadership and HR changes, and related events or conferences.
- Boost the organization's visibility among PR agencies, communication leaders, and brand marketing teams.
- Serve as StrongYes's representative at PR networking forums, industry conferences, and private briefings.
Performance Metrics
- Evaluate the quality—not just quantity—of pitches coming in.
- Track ongoing engagement and partnerships with leading PR firms.
- Assess StrongYes's influence within PR and corporate communication circles beyond vanity metrics.
Candidate Profile
- Between one and four years of experience in PR agencies or corporate communications roles.
- Exposure to corporate, workplace, or leadership narratives within the UAE or Gulf Cooperation Council region.
- Experience in pitching stories to business or policy-focused media outlets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Keen editorial judgment with a strong understanding of what content editors typically reject.
- Able to convey newsroom expectations effectively to communication stakeholders outside media.
