Job description
Role Summary
StrongYes Media is seeking a communications professional trained in PR agency operations who comprehends brand perspectives, agency pitching strategies, and newsroom story selection criteria.
PR Ecosystem & Brand Engagement
- Act as the main liaison between StrongYes Media and PR agencies, corporate communications departments, and brand storytellers.
- Screen, assess, and filter brand pitches, announcements, and proposed story ideas.
- Guide agencies on StrongYes's editorial scope, pitching guidelines, and content exclusions.
- Enhance StrongYes's stature as a credible, impartial, and impactful newsroom within the PR community.
Story Development & Pitch Shaping
- Transform preliminary PR materials into editorially sound story leads.
- Recognize emerging themes in pitches such as hiring trends, leadership changes, AI developments, policies, and corporate movements.
- Work alongside editors to determine content suitable for news, insights, or opinion pieces.
- Reject promotional, inadequate, or unrelated pitches firmly.
Brand Visibility & Newsroom Positioning
- Establish StrongYes as a leading platform for topics covering workplace and employment stories, AI & DeepTech, corporate developments in the ME region, leadership, HR, organizational transformation, as well as summits and conferences.
- Boost StrongYes's prominence among PR agencies, communication leaders, and brand teams.
- Represent the organization at PR forums, industry gatherings, and exclusive briefings.
Ideal Background
- 1 to 4 years of experience in PR agencies or corporate communications roles.
- Substantial familiarity with corporate, workplace, or leadership storytelling in the UAE/GCC region.
- Proven ability in pitching stories to business or policy-focused media outlets.
Skills Required
- Exceptional written and oral communication capabilities.
- A keen news judgment with the insight to discern editorially unsuitable content promptly.
- Capability to communicate newsroom standards and expectations clearly to stakeholders outside media.
