Position Summary
The Associate Engineer in Backgrind and Dicing plays a vital role in wafer manufacturing by managing backgrind and dicing tasks prior to final shipment. This position centers on operating and refining these processes, including equipment calibration, process oversight, and minimizing defects. It involves close collaboration with process and equipment engineers, production owners, and cross-disciplinary teams to troubleshoot, apply improvements, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily operations of backgrind and dicing processes.
- Perform inspections on incoming and outgoing materials.
- Execute laminating, taping and detaping, backgrind, and dicing following established procedures.
- Measure wafer thickness and input relevant data into SiView system.
- Carry out preventative maintenance for equipment according to scheduled plans.
- Record statistical process control (SPC) data for critical equipment parameters.
- Undertake additional tasks as needed, potentially supporting other production lines such as diffusion, implant, or wet processing.
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere strictly to safe work practices and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security policies and initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or ITE Hi-Nitec in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical disciplines.
- At least 2 years experience in an electronic manufacturing environment, ideally in OSAT/assembly with exposure to backgrind or dicing processes.
- Capability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of SPC methodologies.
