About the Role
A prominent financial services institution in Dubai seeks an Associate Director to lead its Technology Risk function. This senior non-technical position emphasizes governance, risk, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder interaction pertaining to technology and innovation within financial services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead a team dedicated to managing technology and innovation-related risks.
- Provide expert advice regarding risk management and regulatory requirements for technology-related initiatives.
- Evaluate technology, cybersecurity, and emerging risks present in the financial services sector.
- Assist in shaping regulatory policies, compliance standards, and risk frameworks.
- Engage regularly with senior leadership, boards of directors, regulators, and industry participants.
- Stay updated on technological advances and developments in financial services to determine their risk implications.
- Contribute to strategic projects and organization-wide risk management efforts.
- Mentor team members and foster a robust culture of risk awareness and governance.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Over 10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory roles within financial services or supervisory authorities.
- Minimum of two years in leadership positions involving team supervision or management.
- Proven ability to collaborate with regulators, standards bodies, executive teams, and boards at senior levels.
- Experience in developing and analyzing regulatory policies and standards.
- Solid understanding of technology risk, cyber risk, and emerging risks affecting financial institutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills tailored to senior-level interactions.
- Academic background in risk management, finance, business, technology, or similar relevant fields.
Additional Information
This position does not require hands-on technical IT expertise or cybersecurity practice. Its core focus lies in oversight, risk governance, and regulatory policy management.
