Overview

As an Associate Director in Structural Engineering, you will lead a specialized team while driving client engagement, business growth, and project excellence within the property and buildings sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Building Structures Team, supporting overarching business objectives and strategic goals.
- Build and sustain strong client relationships, actively pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base.
- Oversee the technical development of Structural Engineers across multiple locations including Auckland and regional offices.
- Manage projects as Project Manager or Director, ensuring timely delivery that aligns with client objectives, budget constraints, and quality standards.
- Provide leadership to project teams to meet deadlines, budgets, and profitability targets.
- Handle project administration including client reporting, invoicing, and utilizing company accounting, record keeping, and quality management systems.
- Plan and coordinate engineering tasks within building projects, integrating efforts of various groups to meet technical quality, schedule, and client satisfaction benchmarks.
- Offer guidance on training needs, resource allocation, quality assurance, and project deliverables within the structures group.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses a tertiary qualification relevant to Structural Engineering or Project Delivery.
- Holds Chartered Professional Engineering (CPEng) accreditation or an equivalent credential.
- Brings at least 10 years of experience in building engineering, with substantial expertise in seismic design.
- Demonstrates senior-level project management experience combined with strong commercial acumen.
- Experienced in expanding client networks and developing prospects within the industry sector.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain effective client relationships.
- Strong leadership skills with capability to manage and inspire teams effectively.
