Job Overview

The Global Manufacturing and Quality Learning & Development (GMQLD) team is focused on creating learning solutions that enable Lilly's Manufacturing and Quality teams to deliver medicines prioritizing safety and quality. The Learning Architect (LA) role is a platform-centered learning professional responsible for creating and maintaining training programs serving an entire manufacturing platform. This position is based at the Kinsale, Ireland manufacturing site, focusing 90% on platform-wide content and 10% on site-specific training.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and design platform-centric training curricula following Center of Excellence (COE) governance frameworks and global standards.
• Balance content development between broader platform needs (90%) and localized site requirements (10%) under the guidance of the Platform Lead.
• Collaborate with site Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure training reflects the latest manufacturing processes.
• Apply process-based curriculum principles by organizing content around manufacturing processes and task-level qualifications.
• Maintain curriculum alignment with the three-tiered content model covering Global, Platform, and Site levels.
• Ensure content compliance with COE standards, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and communicate content gaps and site needs to the Platform Lead and COE for appropriate resolution.
• Integrate global content from COE as foundational elements for platform-specific curricula.
• Support quality system processes related to training equivalency, exceptions, and substitutions.
• Work closely with Platform Leads on learning and development strategies and business priorities affecting the platform.
• Engage with COE for standards alignment and cross-platform coordination.
• Collaborate with Learning Execution Partners to understand site-specific implementation needs, facilitating appropriate curriculum updates.
• Represent the platform during cross-functional meetings, audits, and governance reviews.
• Contribute to initiatives optimizing Time to Qualification by identifying redundancies, training burdens, and qualification bottlenecks.
• Assist in standardizing On-the-Job Training (OJT) across platform sites.
• Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities for curriculum and qualification enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or at least ten years of equivalent experience.
• A minimum of five years working in a GxP-regulated environment.
• Expertise in Learning & Development, instructional design, or Manufacturing/Quality operations.
• Experience with curriculum design, learning management systems, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training requirements.
• Strong familiarity with GxP, GMP compliance, and regulatory training requirements.
• Proficient in written and verbal English communication.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• In-depth understanding of platform-specific manufacturing processes such as PFS, Cartridge, DAP/EM, Chemical, or Biologics.
• Background in process-based or competency-based curriculum architecture.
• Able to effectively collaborate across multiple sites and different time zones.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams including Quality, Operations, and Engineering.
• Experience with digital learning platforms, Directed OJT (DOJT), and OJT standardization efforts.
• Knowledge of HR and learning systems such as Workday and SuccessFactors.

Additional Information

• Location: Onsite at Kinsale manufacturing site, Ireland.
• Travel Requirements: Approximately 10% travel expected.
• Shift: Site-based role, servicing 90% platform-level initiatives.
