Job description
Overview
This role is based remotely in Singapore, focusing on the Asia-Pacific region. The Associate Director of Business Development will spearhead efforts to identify and cultivate new client relationships with the goal of consistently increasing revenue and expanding the company's sales pipeline year after year.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive acquisition of new customers through proactive engagement and frequent direct interactions including client visits and networking.
- Apply strategic insight into the market and customer needs to position Lonza distinctly above competitors.
- Build and maintain strong networks with various stakeholders within target accounts, from technical teams to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with marketing, account management, proposal management, and commercial development teams to formulate strategies and detailed plans for territory development that enhances Lonza’s leadership as a solutions provider.
- Create compelling value propositions tailored to customers' needs to generate business opportunities.
- Analyze market trends and potential, developing approaches to increase Lonza's share in key countries such as Korea, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, and Singapore.
- Gain deep understanding of the biotech and pharmaceutical markets and competitive CDMO landscape in assigned countries.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven successful track record meeting annual business targets for complex, high-value transactions.
- Strong familiarity with drug development and commercialization processes.
- Robust technical knowledge of drug substance and drug product manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated success in securing new customers with a high closure rate.
- Comprehensive understanding of the drug development cycle from pre-clinical to commercialization stages.
- Experience collaborating with scientific teams and executive stakeholders, including C-suite, to communicate Lonza’s value propositions.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.com or similar customer relationship management systems.
