Job description
About The Role
Join the Seven West Media Engineering team in Perth as an Associate DevOps Engineer. This position offers the chance to work with innovative cloud technologies, particularly AWS, developing cloud engineering and infrastructure-as-code expertise while collaborating with a team of inventive and solution-driven professionals shaping Australia's digital media landscape.
You will be involved in developing cloud-based platforms that support numerous digital media solutions such as The West, The Nightly, PerthNow, 7NEWS, The Game, Community News, and 18 regional websites. Responsibilities include automating cloud infrastructure, configuration, testing, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD), enhancing security by mitigating risks, building and maintaining cloud applications and telemetry, and working with containers and cloud-native services. Collaboration across technology and business teams is essential, as is engagement with data processing and ETL tasks to manage data transformations.
Candidate Profile
Ideal applicants hold relevant IT qualifications such as a Computer Science degree or certifications in Information Technology or Systems Administration. While prior experience as a Developer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), DevOps Engineer, or with AWS is a benefit, the role also welcomes recent graduates or candidates with some foundational cloud experience. Familiarity with source control systems, automated testing, build tools, and CI/CD platforms like Pulumi, Terraform, CDK, or GitHub is advantageous. Proficiency in programming and scripting languages like TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Bash, and PowerShell is expected. A working knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and ECS is also important. Strong communication and teamwork abilities are necessary, alongside solid investigation and research skills, including experience utilizing artificial intelligence tools.

After probation, hybrid work arrangements become available to support a balanced lifestyle.
