Role Overview - Assistant Store Manager

We seek a passionate Assistant Store Manager for a new store opening who thrives in fast-paced, ever-changing environments. You will lead by nurturing a supportive, inclusive workplace, inspiring your team to create memorable experiences for customers daily. This role presents ongoing challenges and opportunities that keep the responsibilities engaging and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance store performance by driving sales results, controlling expenses, and managing essential functions such as merchandising, backroom operations, frontline service, cash office, customer care, markdown execution, staff scheduling, shipping, and receiving, focusing strongly on reducing shrinkage and damages.
• Attract, hire, and develop top talent by delivering comprehensive training and mentorship, ensuring a positive, empowering workplace for associates and a welcoming environment for customers.
• Effectively communicate and apply project plans, targets, company initiatives, and operational changes; contribute to succession planning processes to address future staffing needs.
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve targeted sales, expense control, and customer service objectives; oversee loss prevention programs; and enhance store layout and operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in retail leadership as an Assistant or Store Manager.
• Proven capability to lead, motivate, and grow a sizeable team.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, capable of influencing, delivering constructive feedback, and coaching effectively.
• Solid knowledge of store operations, customer service standards, merchandising, people leadership, health and safety protocols, and loss prevention with a strong commitment to following through on tasks and initiatives.

Location and Compensation

This position is onsite at the CAN Winners Store 0243 located at 168 8228 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, Alberta. The anticipated salary range is approximately CAD $48,592.50 to $68,029.50 per year. Final compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
