Assistant Store Manager / Store Manager (adidas)

Role Overview

The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) or Store Manager (SM) is responsible for enhancing the store’s profitability, sustaining team productivity, and cultivating an environment focused on proactive selling. Candidates should have prior experience working in Changi Airport terminals and be willing to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and late nights.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume full accountability for the store's commercial achievements and financial outcomes.
• Manage operating expenses within the approved budget to ensure cost control.
• Analyze operational data to question existing practices and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with the District Manager and Retail Back Office teams to address areas needing enhancement.
• Promote ongoing growth in store sales, productivity, and profitability.
• Maintain compliance with all legal and financial standards governing store operations.
• Lead by example in customer service, maximizing floor selling time and guiding team members in sales activities.
• Ensure management presence on the sales floor at all times to focus on customer engagement.
• Organize staff schedules to effectively serve customers, boost sales, and execute operational tasks.
• Represent the adidas brand consistently, upholding its values and image.
• Ensure adherence to in-store brand execution and provide comprehensive training on foundational and seasonal products.
• Administer all store operations efficiently according to company policies and procedures.
• Plan and manage annual leave to maintain sufficient store manpower.
• Oversee daily store operations to meet commercial targets.
• Uphold Visual Merchandising and In-Store Communication standards rigorously.
• Process merchandise deliveries promptly so all products are available and easy to access for customers.
• Ensure swift and precise cash register transactions.
• Enforce loss prevention policies to minimize shrinkage.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and productive working and shopping environment.
• Execute seasonal and quarterly merchandise launches and marketing promotions.
• Lead monthly team meetings to support planning and performance.
• Coordinate with Merchandising and Warehouse teams to assure stock availability aligning with sales goals.
• Conduct precise biannual inventory counts to prevent product loss.
• Collect and relay consumer and retail feedback to adidas retail teams monthly.
• Manage store office and stockroom cleanliness and work conditions.
• Oversee Mystery Shopper program implementation and corrective actions in partnership with Retail Operations Manager.
• Collaborate with HR and District Manager on recruitment and training of store personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all HR guidelines and procedures.
• Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, tracking employee performance and providing timely feedback, including managing underperformance.
• Partner with the District Manager to identify and nurture high-potential team members for career progression.
• Facilitate sharing of best practices across district stores to elevate overall performance.
• Complete required training and apply learnings to improve job performance continually.
• Seek ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
• Develop and implement a staff recognition program to motivate the team.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and education to staff during daily operations.
