Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Store Manager for our Fortitude Valley store. The position involves working from Tuesday to Saturday and focuses on retail leadership that supports the Store Manager in boosting store performance, cultivating a customer-focused culture, and enhancing team capabilities—all embodying Early Settler's core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Store Manager to boost sales and meet targets through effective merchandise selling
• Engage with customers to understand their home design aspirations, providing style guidance, product recommendations, and facilitating upselling and cross-selling opportunities
• Coach, mentor, and motivate the retail sales team to consistently achieve sales targets while delivering outstanding shopping experiences
• Assist in daily store operations including employee scheduling, financial oversight, administrative duties, recruitment, and onboarding new team members
• Contribute to the development and execution of strategies aimed at maximizing sales and enhancing customer service to drive overall store success

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 3 years of retail sales experience with a demonstrable record of achieving sales targets
• Strong commercial insight paired with a results-oriented attitude that effectively translates strategies into results
• Proven ability to coach and inspire teams to deliver exceptional customer service
• Resourceful problem-solver with a positive, proactive approach
• Capable of balancing customer interaction, team development, and administrative responsibilities
• Interest in home styling, furniture, or creating inviting living environments is advantageous

• Physical capability to perform manual handling duties including lifting and moving furniture items of varying sizes safely and regularly
