Role Overview

As an Assistant Manager at Platypus Shoes Mt Barker, you will work closely with the Store Manager to lead and support a team of dedicated casual employees. Your main responsibilities include boosting sales metrics and KPIs, coaching staff, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role is pivotal in fostering an energetic store atmosphere and developing your leadership skills within a fast-paced and impactful retail environment.

Key Duties

• Assist the Store Manager in driving store success by meeting sales goals, KPIs, and upholding visual merchandising excellence.
• Inspire and motivate the team to consistently achieve superior sales and customer experience outcomes.
• Analyze sales data on daily, weekly, and monthly bases to recognize achievements and identify improvement opportunities.
• Plan staff schedules and manage wage expenditure to align with corporate targets and operational needs.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, fostering strong morale, continuous training, and succession planning.
• Maintain optimal stock levels, store appearance, shrinkage prevention, and operational quality.
• Ensure workplace compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and all applicable laws.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in a senior casual, key holder, supervisor, or third-in-charge role in a busy retail setting.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of driving sales and meeting key performance indicators.
• Proactive, hands-on leadership approach with a problem-solving, "Make it Happen" attitude.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with a passion for mentoring and developing others.
• Strong operational knowledge concerning stock management and visual merchandising standards.
• A genuine enthusiasm for delivering excellent customer service and familiarity with premium products.
