Position Overview

The Assistant Spa & Wellness Manager aids the Spa & Wellness Manager in overseeing the spa and wellness center’s daily operations. This role ensures exceptional guest interactions, adherence to service excellence, team development, and supports the department’s financial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily management and administrative duties of the spa and wellness amenities.
  • Guarantee all treatments, wellness services, and guest engagements meet premium quality standards consistently.
  • Oversee and assist therapists, front desk staff, fitness and wellness team members, and other spa personnel.
  • Manage daily operational activities such as appointment scheduling, treatment room readiness, guest traffic, cleanliness, and quality of service delivery.
  • Provide guests with a warm, personalized, and professional experience throughout their visit.
  • Address guest feedback, requests, and complaints with professionalism, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, instructing, mentoring, and nurturing spa team members.
  • Organize team meetings regularly for clear communication regarding operations and departmental goals.
  • Evaluate staff performance and offer constructive feedback and coaching to support improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, spa safety, hygiene regulations, and brand guidelines.
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness, presentation, and ambiance throughout the spa and wellness spaces.
  • Oversee treatment products, amenities, and retail inventory to maintain appropriate stock and timely replenishment.
  • Participate in preventive maintenance activities and promptly report facility or equipment issues.
  • Help plan staff scheduling, attendance, and manpower to meet operational needs.
  • Support achievement of departmental targets related to revenue, productivity, and profitability.
  • Track treatment bookings, therapist efficiency, retail sales, promotions, and seek opportunities to maximize income.
  • Assist with preparation and analysis of daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reports.
  • Promote spa offerings, wellness programs, memberships, packages, and retail items to boost guest participation and revenues.
  • Foster strong guest relationships to encourage loyalty and repeat visits.
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to provide a seamless and consistent guest experience.
  • Stay updated on latest trends in spa, wellness, beauty, and fitness to suggest enhancements.
  • Act as Spa & Wellness Manager during their absence to maintain operations and service quality.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Spa & Wellness Manager or Spa Director.

Requirements

  • At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in roles such as Spa Supervisor, Senior Therapist, or Reception Lead within 5-star hotels, luxury resorts, or upscale wellness centers.
  • A diploma or bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Healthcare/Wellness, or a related domain.
  • Preferred professional certifications in massage therapy, aesthetics/beauty therapy, or recognized industry qualifications such as CIDESCO, CIBTAC, or ITEC.
  • Familiarity with spa management software like Opera or SpaSoft.
  • Capability to train and inspire a multicultural team of therapists and front desk personnel.
