Job description
Role Overview
We seek an Assistant Quantity Surveyor based in Singapore to oversee various aspects of project cost management including tendering, contract administration, and commercial project control within construction sectors. This full-time position requires proven experience and expertise in quantity surveying practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates, define budgets, and create comprehensive project cost reports.
- Oversee the preparation and comparison of tenders and quotations to support informed project decisions.
- Manage contract documentation such as progress claims, variation orders, and final account settlements.
- Continuously monitor and control project expenditure to maintain alignment with approved budgets.
- Collaborate closely with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Assist in cost analysis, implement value engineering techniques, and engage in commercial negotiations to optimize financial outcomes.
- Prepare quantifiable surveyor reports, forecasts, and other financial records essential for project transparency.
Candidate Requirements
- Holds a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Has at least 2 years of hands-on experience in QS or construction-related roles.
- Demonstrates proficiency with costing methodologies, tender processes, contract management, and cost control procedures.
- Competent user of MS Office; familiarity with QS-specific software is advantageous.
- Exceptional analytical reasoning, negotiation strength, and communication capabilities.
