Role Overview

The Assistant position is a full-time, on-site role based at the Mermaid Beach salon. Daily responsibilities include welcoming clients, managing appointment schedules, supporting stylists by preparing and cleaning workstations, and assisting with hair washing. The Assistant ensures salon supplies are organized, maintains cleanliness throughout the facility, and contributes to an efficient, professional client experience. Additional duties include handling basic receptionist tasks such as answering calls, confirming appointments, and helping organize retail products. The role requires close collaboration with the salon team to ensure a calm and effective work environment that reflects the salon's standards of service and presentation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Deliver friendly and professional client service, including warmly greeting customers and clear communication.
• Maintain strong organizational capability to manage appointments, aid stylists, and keep stations and public areas clean and stocked.
• Perform basic salon assistant duties such as hair washing, station preparation, and support with general salon operations; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Demonstrate reliability and punctuality with a commitment to full-time, on-site hours and teamwork.
• Exhibit willingness to learn, follow instructions, and adapt efficiently in a fast-paced salon environment.
• Possess good interpersonal skills and a positive mindset, showing respect to all clients and colleagues.
• Previous experience in a salon, customer service, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
