Job description
Role Overview and Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager - Welfare Officer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing welfare programs aimed at enhancing employee well-being and satisfaction. Your key duties include regular employee welfare needs assessments, management of uniform and welfare item distribution, and organizing sports and recreational activities. You will also ensure that employees receive welfare benefits under government schemes.
You will coordinate annual medical check-ups and other wellbeing initiatives, oversee employee assistance programs including counseling and support services, and liaise with external healthcare providers to facilitate health camps and awareness sessions. Compliance with labor legislation related to employee welfare and deft handling of employee grievances and conflicts are critical responsibilities. Close collaboration with Human Resources will help maintain a safe, inclusive workplace. Additionally, you will partner with community organizations to support social welfare efforts and maintain thorough records of welfare-related activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Master of Social Work (MSW) or an equivalent qualification in a related domain, meeting the standards outlined in Gujarat factories rule 1963.
- Minimum five years of professional experience managing welfare programs, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing employee welfare initiatives.
- Experience with employee grievance handling systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of labor laws concerning welfare and social security.
- Ability to develop and oversee fair welfare policies and programs.
- Experience managing employee assistance programs and support frameworks.
- Familiarity with healthcare and workplace safety standards.
