Role Overview
The Assistant Manager of Human Resources contributes to delivering exceptional HR services that support employees and management alike. This role encompasses recruitment, employee relations, payroll assistance, and HR administration within the framework of company policies, labor legislation, and brand standards. It also plays a crucial role in cultivating a positive organizational culture aligned with the resort’s values and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with global directives, monitoring outcomes to meet set objectives.
- Coordinate timely and effective internal communications to ensure staff receive relevant messages using appropriate channels.
- Assist in managing the HR budget and ensure department P&L accountability.
- Promote and support localization and workforce planning initiatives for optimal staffing and cost-efficiency.
- Analyze HR data and statistics regularly to identify trends for targeted interventions and resource management.
- Collaborate with department heads on manpower planning and lead interviews for management-level roles.
- Oversee a structured and welcoming onboarding process that facilitates new colleagues’ integration.
- Contribute to the annual HR review for compliance with organizational standards.
- Manage communication and actionable plans for Colleague Engagement Survey results to enhance workplace conditions.
- Ensure effective execution of performance management processes, enabling feedback and development opportunities.
- Drive talent management efforts, including talent identification, development, and intra-company transfers.
- Conduct regular talent assessments and coaching to foster career growth and retention.
- Review and refine grading systems and benefits to position the company as an employer of choice and enhance retention.
- Administer professional and respectful exit processes for departing employees, including fair dismissal practices.
- Perform additional duties as required by management.
Experience and Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Hotel & Hospitality Management or Human Resources.
- Certified training qualifications in HR.
- At least 2 years of hospitality experience, either operational or support-based.
- Experience working in the Middle East region.
- Demonstrated ability to establish HR departments and handle hospitality pre-opening processes.
- Proven management experience with a culturally diverse workforce.
- Expertise in high volume and specialized recruitment, change management, and HR within 5-star hotel environments.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and Human Resource Management Systems.
- Proficient in business-level English communication, both written and verbal.
- Good knowledge of UAE Labour Law, HR policies, and systems.
- Strong administration, confidentiality, interpersonal, customer relations, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving, decision-making, initiative, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Awareness of business domains relevant to the hospitality industry.
