About the Role
This position offers qualified candidates an opportunity to join a swiftly expanding segment of the company, with excellent prospects for career advancement. The Deal Advisory division at Grant Thornton specialises in corporate finance including mergers and acquisitions, transaction advisory, valuations, capital raising, and business planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in financial due diligence for acquisitions or sales conducted by private equity groups and corporate buyers.
- Contribute to lead advisory M&A initiatives and management buyout/in assignments, including information memorandum preparation and financial databooks.
- Support valuation assignments by building financial models such as discounted cash flow and comparable company analysis, along with stock options and purchase price allocations.
- Develop, review, and apply core valuation methods and financial modelling techniques.
- Construct adaptable financial models including three-statement forecasts and sensitivity analyses.
- Collaborate with clients to develop business plans aligned with their growth strategies, both organic and inorganic.
- Assist the broader team with debt advisory projects.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated prior experience in transaction advisory services (financial due diligence, valuation, modelling, M&A lead advisory).
- Three to four years of relevant industry experience.
- Possession of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is preferred.
- Professional certification such as ACA, CFA, or equivalent is required.
- Strong grasp of accounting standards including IFRS and Irish GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with S&P Capital IQ Pro, Mergermarket, Bloomberg is advantageous.
- Experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI, Alteryx, or Tableau is beneficial.
- English fluency mandatory; additional European languages are a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear report writing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, organizational, and planning capabilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in demanding, fast-paced environments.
- Effective team player with strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Committed to ongoing self-directed learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
