Job description

Overview

The Assistant Manager, Crew Development collaborates with Training, Performance Standards, and Crew Performance & Engagement teams to analyze data on crew performance, training, and engagement. This role is instrumental in pinpointing high-potential cabin crew members, creating development strategies based on competency gaps, and ensuring a steady pipeline for future crew leaders. Additionally, this position partners with the Performance Standards team to enhance crew performance benchmarks to meet advancing operational and service expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integrate performance, training, and engagement data from multiple teams to identify trends, strengths, and development needs.
  • Convert performance and engagement insights into practical recommendations for senior management and related teams.
  • Design and collaborate on targeted development initiatives such as coaching, mentoring, and stretch assignments aligned with training pathways.
  • Evaluate the success of developmental programs and adjust them accordingly.
  • Work alongside the Crew Performance & Engagement team for development planning concerning new promotes and crew requiring performance improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with the Performance Standards Specialists to update and elevate performance assessment criteria.
  • Promote industry best practices in performance evaluations and conduct root cause analysis to recommend systematic enhancements.
  • Serve as a liaison among cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data sharing and prioritization.
  • Identify high-potential crew members and suggest criteria and progression routes for leadership readiness.
  • Assist with recruitment, company events, and other tasks as directed by senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A diploma or degree in relevant fields such as Training & Development, Education, Human Resources, Business, Aviation, or comparable work experience.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to assess performance data and trends for informed decision-making.
  • Professional experience in cabin crew training, quality assurance, competency evaluation, or managing operational performance.
  • Leadership experience involving team management or oversight with coaching responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at various organizational levels.
  • High ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive performance data.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage recurring deadlines efficiently.

Desirable Skills

  • Prior exposure to airline cabin operations and familiarity with performance evaluation frameworks and audits.
  • Experience in developing targeted learning interventions and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to cabin crew operations.
  • Competence in producing leadership-oriented reports with actionable insights.
  • Background in talent identification and leadership development initiatives.
