About the Role
Weir & Sons is seeking a seasoned Assistant Manager to join their team in Dublin. This role focuses on ensuring smooth daily operations within a retail setting through hands-on leadership on the sales floor as well as overseeing administrative activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and keep sales associates motivated to meet and surpass individual and category sales targets by applying retail best practices.
- Demonstrate leadership by actively participating on the selling floor, coaching team members effectively.
- Drive client engagement by managing client books for acquiring and retaining customers.
- Achieve category and consignment sales goals as set by management.
- Assist the sales process and provide solutions for customer concerns, managing escalated complaints when necessary.
- Support staff managing consignments and ensure superior customer service standards.
- Uphold strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Complete daily reports and analyses as assigned.
- Maintain and enforce store visual merchandising standards and collaborate with the Visual Merchandising Manager on adjustments to enhance the sales environment.
- Offer immediate, constructive coaching to sales associates based on observations and data.
- Contribute to recruitment and staff development recommendations alongside the Store Manager.
- Identify training needs for the team to facilitate regular category-focused meetings and coaching sessions.
- Share responsibility for the store's profit and loss performance.
- Maintain accuracy of inventory and control shrinkage by coordinating with operational teams and implementing corrective actions.
Candidate Requirements
- Thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Expertise in customer service coupled with natural leadership qualities.
- Minimum of two years experience in jewellery retail.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, capable of clear and concise information delivery.
- Strong leadership, initiative, delegation, mediation, and time management skills.
- Organized, goal-driven, confident, and proactive in taking on challenges.
- Effective listening abilities and professional appearance.
- Articulate with a friendly, outgoing demeanor.
- Skilled in handling high-end clientele with the ability to gauge customer needs and behavior.
- Exhibits leadership by example and takes initiative.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Background in jewellery or luxury retail sectors.
