Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an Assistant General Manager to oversee site operations focusing on industrial and biomedical waste management at our Navi Mumbai location. The role demands comprehensive control over plant operations, environmental compliance, safety leadership, and coordination of manpower and resources to ensure efficient and sustainable processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all activities related to the processing facilities such as incinerators, autoclaves, and landfill sites, ensuring smooth execution and zero man-hour loss daily.
- Coordinate fleet and logistics operations to guarantee safe and contamination-free collection and transport of waste materials.
- Ensure strict adherence to environmental standards and regulatory guidelines including Pollution Control Board rules and Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems.
- Lead safety initiatives by enforcing site-wide protocols, mandating proper personal protective equipment usage, and implementing ISO 9001 and OHSAS standards.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, including upkeep of plant assets and general site cleanliness.
- Develop, implement, and manage operational budgets while optimizing costs and achieving production and financial targets.
- Plan and organize workforce allocation, shift duties, and labor scheduling in collaboration with supervisors.
- Forecast and manage procurement needs for operational supplies, spare parts, and tools by liaising with stores and procurement departments.
- Analyze operational data to identify performance trends, optimize processes, and prepare timely reports for executive management.
- Supervise contractors and vendors, ensuring service quality and compliance with contractual agreements.
- Handle community engagement by managing inquiries, resolving complaints, investigating illegal dumping, and cooperating with environmental enforcement agencies.
- Support strategic initiatives related to new operational projects, facility developments, waste reduction plans, and awareness campaigns.
