Assistant Engineer - Tool Room

About the Role

The company seeks an energetic Assistant or Deputy Engineer specializing in tool room operations, focusing on manufacturing, maintaining, and repairing injection moulds according to engineering specifications. This position requires close collaboration with design, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless mould trials and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Create new injection moulds based on detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Assemble, fit, and conduct trial runs for mould parts to verify effective performance.
• Execute repairs, modifications, and routine maintenance on existing moulds to reduce production delays.
• Operate various tool room machinery including milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, drilling, and EDM tools.
• Carry out precision tasks such as fitting, polishing, grinding, and bench work with high accuracy.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators for quality inspections.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to mould functionality and apply necessary corrective measures.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams during mould trials and validation phases.
• Implement preventive maintenance routines and maintain mould availability to support continuous production.
• Document all mould repairs, maintenance activities, modifications, and trial results meticulously.
• Ensure the appropriate care and upkeep of tools, machines, and related equipment.
• Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, 5S practices, quality standards, and internal policies.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or qualifications in Tool and Die Making.
