About the Role
The University of Prince Mugrin (located in Madinah, Saudi Arabia) seeks a highly qualified Saudi national to join as the Assistant Director of Institutional Communication. The position supports the Director in directing the university's communication, media, and branding efforts to ensure alignment with the institution's strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in leading and managing the Institutional Communication Unit.
- Oversee daily operations including planning, assigning tasks, and monitoring team performance.
- Foster the professional growth and performance of the communication staff.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to coordinate communication initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the university's media and communication strategies.
- Supervise implementation and follow-up on approved communication plans and media campaigns.
- Evaluate ongoing media projects and suggest improvements as needed.
- Compile periodic reports on communication activities and key performance metrics.
- Ensure all media content adheres to university branding and identity standards.
- Create and review informational and marketing content for various university events, ensuring its suitability and consistency with institutional reputation.
- Present media content to the Director, and subsequently to the University President for final approval following governance procedures.
- Coordinate the enforcement of identity standards across all university academic and administrative units.
- Support development of communication materials that promote a uniform university image.
- Work with media representatives and stakeholders to document and publicize university news, events, and accomplishments.
- Manage media coverage of official university functions.
- Maintain archives and records of communication outputs and coverage.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Media, Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in media, institutional communication, or branding with a minimum of 3 years in leadership or supervisory roles, ideally within higher education or large institutions.
- High proficiency in media, content, and digital communication tools.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Expertise in institutional branding and identity governance.
- Experience in media planning and campaign execution.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven capability in coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Saudi media laws and institutional regulations.
- Capacity to juggle multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.
