Assistant Director, Faculty Engagement & Value Propositions

About the Role

The University Advancement Office at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore fosters strong relationships with philanthropists, alumni, corporate partners, and other supporters to boost educational and research philanthropy aligned with a sustainable future. This role focuses on crafting compelling donor-centered proposals and enhancing the fundraising capabilities of faculty and various units within NTU to advance philanthropic efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with faculty members for the development of new funding propositions tailored to the Colleges and Schools.
• Align faculty funding needs or offerings with the interests of potential donors to generate new gift opportunities.
• Assist faculties in facilitating dialogue regarding gift opportunities between internal university stakeholders and prospective donors.
• Prepare clear, persuasive proposals and donor-facing materials to support engagement efforts.
• Support senior leadership in advancing gift cases and strategic funding initiatives.
• Deliver administrative and operational assistance to help progress philanthropic goals as needed.

Candidate Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required.
• Strong skills in relationship management, editorial writing, presentation, and product packaging.
• A minimum of eight years of progressive experience in business development or marketing, demonstrating effective engagement with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to translate technical innovations into market-ready messaging.
• Experience in higher education or business development sectors is an added advantage.
• A passion for supporting philanthropy in higher education and self-motivation to contribute to community building.
• Team player with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Exhibits tact, maturity, and independent decision-making in daily duties.
• A proven track record in managing complex stakeholder relationships and advancing strategic opportunities independently.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for a Manager-level position.
