Role Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our team in Dublin. This role is integral to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting key accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of trial balances.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including stock and results from annual stock counts.
• Prepare and record non-standard journal entries.
• Upload sales data accurately.
• Coordinate with pharmacies and warehouses to resolve finance-related issues.
• Maintain Spending Power pack documentation.
• Keep finance system notes and process documents up to date.
• Play an active role in the monthly billing cycle.
• Assist with income statement and balance sheet reviews.
• Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and facilitate interim and year-end audits.
• Attend cross-departmental meetings to ensure accurate accounting of Retail Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Distribution transactions.
• Work closely with the Shared Service Team located in Vilnius, Lithuania.
• Complete assigned internal controls according to agreed procedures.
• Participate actively in ad-hoc projects supporting the wider PHX Ireland business.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Part-qualified accountant or equivalent tertiary qualification.
• At least three years of experience in an assistant accountant role within a dynamic finance environment.
• Experience with Open Accounts or Awards software is a plus.
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in team settings and work independently.
• Excellent organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
