MCN's vision is to connect Africa with global optic fiber networks, bridging the coastal areas still lacking digital infrastructure. Through collaborations with partners like Terremark, a carrier-neutral data center provider, MCN plans to extend digital coverage to countries including Tanzania, Mozambique, Madagascar, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Botswana, Somalia, Sudan, Mauritius, Zambia, Comoros Islands, and Djibouti. More neighboring countries are anticipated to join this initiative to complete the region's digital connectivity.
Role Overview
This full-time position based in Haridwar requires the Assistant to manage daily office functions such as scheduling meetings, organizing documentation, and maintaining records. The role entails coordinating internal communications, preparing basic reports and presentations, and arranging travel and logistics. The Assistant will facilitate smooth operations by monitoring pending responsibilities, supporting administrative tasks for team members, and communicating with external contacts as needed. Regular on-site engagement and cooperation with colleagues are essential to uphold MCN’s operational goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proficient administrative and organizational skills including calendar scheduling, document management, and record keeping.
- Familiarity with office technology tools like word processors, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software.
- Strong communication abilities encompassing clear verbal and written interaction and professional dealings with internal teams and external partners.
- Effective time management and multitasking skills to handle various priorities, meet deadlines, and track ongoing tasks.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in document and report preparation and file maintenance.
- Capability to work consistently on-site in Haridwar, collaborate within diverse teams, and foster a professional and inclusive workplace culture.
- Previous experience in administrative or assistant roles is preferred; experience in the telecommunications or technology sectors is an advantage.
- Educational qualifications such as a diploma or bachelor's degree in business, administration, or relevant fields are beneficial.
