Asset Protection Representative

Overview

Join a respected team at Loblaw Companies Limited as an Asset Protection Representative in Midland, Ontario. This full-time role requires flexible availability, including evening and weekend shifts, at a busy grocery and pharmacy retail location. You will play a vital role in ensuring a secure shopping environment by proactively protecting people, property, and assets against theft and fraud.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a vigilant and professional presence within the store to deter theft, fraud and policy breaches.
• Lawfully and safely apprehend individuals suspected of offences adhering to company and legal guidelines.
• Lead thorough investigations both internally and externally, collecting evidence and coordinating with law enforcement when necessary.
• Collaborate with store leadership to identify trends in losses and develop strategies to minimize shrinkage.
• Ensure operations comply with company policies, security standards, and provincial legislation.
• Adapt fluidly to the fast-paced retail environment, managing a flexible schedule to meet operational needs.

Qualifications and Skills

• Hold a valid Provincial Security Guard License along with knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related laws.
• Competent with CCTV and other surveillance technologies as well as Microsoft Office programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Exhibit an approachable and confident professional persona with strong communication abilities.
• Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a proactive mindset for problem resolution.
• Previous experience in retail environments like grocery or pharmacy gives an advantage.
• Availability to work a 40-hour workweek including a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights, and weekends).

Compensation
