About the Role
Join Loblaw Companies Limited as a full-time Asset Protection Representative at our Toronto RCSS location. This position entails safeguarding our business premises, employees, and customers within a high-volume grocery and pharmacy environment by proactively preventing theft, fraud, and policy breaches. You'll play a critical role in maintaining a secure shopping space, applying your vigilance and quick decision-making skills to reduce losses.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible, professional presence in-store to deter and prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations.
- Confidently and lawfully detain offenders following company and legal guidelines.
- Conduct thorough investigations both internally and involving external authorities; collect and analyze evidence, collaborating with law enforcement when needed.
- Work alongside store leadership to identify trends in loss and devise strategies to mitigate shrinkage.
- Ensure adherence to company standards, security policies, and provincial legal requirements.
- Adapt swiftly to the demands of a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment, including flexible scheduling to accommodate evenings and weekends.
Qualifications & Skills
- Possess a valid Provincial Security Guard License and comprehensive knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related laws.
- Experience with surveillance technology such as CCTV and familiar with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Display an approachable yet confident demeanor with exceptional communication capabilities.
- Demonstrate high integrity, accountability, and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Previous background in grocery, pharmacy, or other high-volume retail environments is advantageous.
- Flexible availability to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, averaging 40 hours weekly.
