Job description
Role Overview
Our client is looking for a seasoned Asset Manager to oversee both the financial and operational outcomes of a hospitality portfolio. This position involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders, hospitality operators, and external parties to manage budgeting, financial reporting, asset efficiency, CapEx planning, and commercial evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the annual operating and capital expenditure budgets including their consolidation, analysis of variances, and quarterly forecast updates.
- Compile and review monthly management reports that outline financial results, KPIs, and budget comparisons.
- Partner with hospitality operators to keep track of performance metrics, define reporting needs, and follow up on important action points.
- Assist in scrutinizing profit and loss statements, future forecasts, management fees, contracts, and capital expenditure proposals against approved budgets.
- Monitor capital expenditure budgets, track approvals and project status while coordinating with project teams and operators to ensure timely project delivery.
- Perform market research and benchmarking of competitors to uncover opportunities for revenue improvement, cost reduction, and asset development.
- Maintain comprehensive asset documentation including records, reporting packages, contracts, and other relevant paperwork.
- Support senior leadership with preparing presentations, drafting business cases, evaluating investments, and offering strategic advice.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Hospitality Management, Real Estate, Business, or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in budgeting, financial reporting, or financial analysis, preferably in hospitality, real estate, or asset management sectors.
- Experience with consolidating budgets across multiple entities and preparing monthly management reports.
- Familiarity with hotel operations, capital expenditure coordination, or asset management is highly desirable.
- Strong grasp of hospitality-specific KPIs, profit and loss review, STR data, and market benchmarking.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel; proficiency in Power BI or similar data visualization tools is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical abilities combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Capable of handling multiple assets, meeting tight deadlines, and managing confidential information with precision.
Preferred Certifications
- CFA Level 1, Certified Hospitality Asset Manager (CHAM), RICS Associate designation, or recognized Asset Management certifications are advantageous.
