Job description
About UniSuper
UniSuper is a prominent leader in the superannuation sector, managing over 70% of funds under management internally through a dedicated Investments team. This in-house approach fosters better retirement outcomes for members by reducing fees, enabling sustainable investments, and achieving top quartile performance.
The Opportunity
This newly established position within the Asset Allocation team, forming part of the Investments group, is responsible for producing macroeconomic and asset allocation research, proposing trade ideas, and providing investment recommendations. The role requires a deep passion for investing and market analysis. While some routine tasks exist, focus time for market reading and thoughtful analysis is provided. The role is based at UniSuper offices in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders in a small team to make significant contributions.
- Analyze and report on major global economic data.
- Convert macroeconomic insights into investment positions that generate alpha for the Fund.
- Conduct research on investment opportunities across all listed asset categories, especially equities.
- Work alongside the Asset Allocation Team, asset class teams, and the Asset Allocation Committee.
- Support ongoing research efforts, alpha creation, and procedural enhancements.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a degree in Commerce, Economics, or a comparable discipline.
- Experience with AI tools, Macrobond, and Bloomberg platforms.
- Background in listed asset classes or investment strategy roles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to clearly and concisely convey insights.
- Proactive, capable of independently managing workload without close supervision.
- Comfortable participating in a small, active team environment and contributing to new process developments.
Experience in superannuation, fund management, or investment banking sectors is highly valued. Enthusiasm for making an impact and willingness to learn are equally important.
