Assembly Technician / Test Technician

Role Overview

This dual-role position involves primarily electro-mechanical assembly and testing tasks. Depending on the assignment, either 80% of the time will be focused on assembly duties with the remainder on testing, or conversely 80% on testing with some assembly involvement.

Assembly Technician Responsibilities

• Operate under general supervision to execute a wide range of electro-mechanical assembly processes on components and subassemblies.
• Interpret and work from highly complex electro-mechanical diagrams, drawings, and basic schematic diagrams.
• Adhere to advanced manufacturing procedures with precision and accuracy.
• Engage in specialized tasks including editing and providing feedback on intricate technical reports and manufacturing documentation.
• Verify the design, fabrication, and assembly fit-up for basic electro-mechanical units.
• Conduct precise measurements ensuring compliance with close tolerance requirements.
• Perform additional duties and participate in assigned training as directed by supervisors.

Test Technician Responsibilities

• Utilize work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering specifications, and parts lists to construct, repair, and test electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies and components.
• Perform electro-mechanical assembly operations coupled with troubleshooting and repair tasks, identifying and rectifying faults.
• Strictly follow safety guidelines to maintain a secure, clean, and healthy workspace, including attending mandatory safety training and promptly reporting incidents or hazards.
• Employ various test equipment such as test fixtures, electronic measuring devices, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps to assess assemblies and components.
• Document progress, labor, and costs electronically using computer systems; may involve programming or software repair as needed.
• Inspect and verify own work against specifications, audit parts for completeness and defectiveness, troubleshoot issues, and continually seek process enhancements.
