Position Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Assembler - General to join our team in Surrey, British Columbia, reporting to the Vertical Supervisor. This role involves assembling and testing electrical components that are crucial to our accessibility products including wheelchair lifts, stairlifts, and elevators. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity where your contributions will make a tangible difference in improving peoples' mobility.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct electrical parts and assemblies following blueprints, engineering schematics, and technical specifications.
- Secure components with appropriate fasteners such as bolts, screws, speed clips, and rivets.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and inspections ensuring assembly safety and operational standards are met.
- Identify and fix any defects or issues in electrical assemblies promptly.
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain efficient production flow and meet deadlines.
- Keep the workspace tidy and comply fully with safety and company policies.
- Accurately record assembly procedures, test outcomes, and note any deviations.
- Support development of improved assembly methods and process enhancements.
- Perform additional assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Energetic, motivated, and persistent personality.
- Completion of high school or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in electrical assembly or related discipline preferred.
- Certifications or prior experience in electrical assembly or manufacturing considered a plus.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documentation accurately.
- Hands-on familiarity with electrical assembly tools and related equipment.
- Solid knowledge of electrical components and circuits.
- Capability to perform detailed quality control inspections and testing.
- Good manual dexterity and coordination of hands and eyes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-reliant with the capability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills suited for effective teamwork and communication with supervisors and stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
- Must regularly stand, use hands and fingers to handle materials, and reach with arms.
- Frequent walking throughout the facility is required.
- Ability to lift/move objects weighing up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds occasionally, and between 50 to 100 pounds with assistance. Lifting support is available for heavier items.
