Overview
This opportunity is a 12-18 month contract for an Armament Technician Supervisor located in Taif, Saudi Arabia, focused on maintenance of RSAF Typhoon aircraft. The assignment begins immediately, requiring 48 hours weekly from Sunday to Thursday, with potential overtime at the standard daily rate. The daily remuneration is £315 (LTD) and includes shared housing and round-trip flights between the UK and Saudi Arabia as related to the job and visa arrangements.
Primary Duties
- Execute scheduled weapons maintenance on RSAF Typhoon jets, encompassing disassembly, cleaning, inspection, minor repairs, and supervision of team members.
- Ensure the technical quality and airworthiness of Typhoon aircraft by adhering to RSAF/DA technical publications, M&CA mandates, and SMU quality management systems during inspections.
- Authorize and conduct independent, vital, and mandatory inspections in line with second signature responsibilities.
- Perform required daily inspections to maintain the maintenance schedule.
- Support environmental, housekeeping, cleanliness, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control checks in the workplace.
- Accurately complete SMU forms, aircraft records, and maintenance documentation.
- Maintain current authorizations for assigned tasks.
- Report to Team Leader any personnel training needs or experience gaps affecting task completion.
- Follow SMU Quality Systems and RSAF technical orders and publications rigorously.
- Assist Quality Assurance with investigations related to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Stay up to date with mandatory training and ensure validity of certifications.
- Perform other reasonable duties as directed by management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of a recognized aircraft engineering trade apprenticeship.
- Qualification at NVQ/C&G Level 3 or equivalent in a technical discipline, technical apprenticeship, or part 66 license (current or lapsed) or an equivalent technical license.
- Minimum seven years post-qualification hands-on experience in operational flying aircraft maintenance supported by formal workplace training or at least three years experience on the same aircraft type.
- Relevant Typhoon type training or qualification course completed.
- Training specific to relevant equipment.
- Experience working within a Typhoon aircraft maintenance organization.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including briefing capability.
- Proficiency in English language.
