Architectural Engineer

About the Role

We seek a skilled and imaginative Architectural Design Engineer to join a prominent real estate development company focused on residential projects. This position entails full responsibility for the architectural design lifecycle—from initial concept and creative ideation through to final design delivery and presentation. The ideal candidate will be an innovative architect capable of independently formulating novel architectural concepts and translating them into attractive, practical, and market-aligned designs.

The successful applicant will also significantly contribute to building the internal architectural design capacity, minimizing dependence on outside consultants. Expertise in AI-enhanced design software and new technologies is crucial, using these tools extensively to inspire ideas, refine concepts, improve visualizations, and enhance design productivity and quality. Prior experience in architectural design consultancies, especially with residential projects and end-to-end design development, is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceive and develop original architectural concepts and designs for residential property developments starting from initial phases.
• Lead the architectural design stages from conceptualization and schematic planning through to detailed design.
• Create innovative, commercially viable architectural solutions aligned with project goals, market demands, and development strategies.
• Produce comprehensive architectural drawings including plans, elevations, sections, and detailed design documents.
• Generate top-quality 3D models, visualizations, and renderings to support design communication.
• Develop architectural elements such as facades, massing, layouts, and material selections.
• Deliver polished design presentations and visuals for management and stakeholder review.
• Utilize Artificial Intelligence tools and emerging design technologies to foster concept ideation, explore alternative designs, enrich visual materials, and streamline the design workflow.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends in architecture, visualization techniques, and AI applications relevant to residential developments.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code, local municipal regulations, and architectural standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, development, and project teams to produce feasible, coordinated, and constructible designs.
• Liaise with external consultants as needed, reviewing their outputs to ensure alignment with the company’s architectural vision and project criteria.
• Develop a distinctive architectural identity for the residential projects portfolio.
• Apply consultancy experience to coordinate, develop, and review architectural proposals aligned with project and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• 4 to 5 years of professional experience in architectural design, with a strong focus on residential development projects.
• Previous tenure at architectural design consultancy firms is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and realize architectural designs autonomously from concept through detailed documentation.
• Advanced skill in architectural design software and visualization tools, including 3ds Max, Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion, and Adobe Photoshop.
• Strong knowledge and practical proficiency in employing AI tools and technologies within architectural design workflows.
• Good understanding of Saudi Building Code and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to translate creative visions into practical, functional, and buildable architecture.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and consultants to ensure technically sound and integrated designs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate and defend design concepts.
• Self-driven with a passion for taking complete ownership of the design process from inception to delivery.

Preferred Additional Experience

• Background working in engineering consultancy firms specializing in architectural design for residential projects.
• Experience designing various residential building types such as apartments and villas within real estate development contexts.
• Track record of independently producing comprehensive architectural design packages with limited external consultant dependency.
• A portfolio evidencing creativity, design leadership, quality architectural visualizations, and adept application of AI-driven design methods.
