Architect & Planner | Data Centre Developer

Job Overview

We are collaborating with a rapidly expanding data centre developer in Southeast Asia to recruit an Architect & Planner based in Singapore. This regional role, part of the Design Delivery team, concentrates on maximising land utilization and steering site selection for data centre projects across the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish site selection standards and oversee due diligence activities throughout APAC markets.
• Maximise land planning for data centre projects considering investment goals, utilities availability, and local development regulations.
• Assess and confirm site suitability in compliance with codes and bespoke customer requirements.
• Lead coordination meetings involving multiple disciplines and provide comprehensive site planning guidance.
• Conduct test fits including data centre buildings, support facilities, and MEP systems.
• Evaluate and verify land use permissions, planning consents, and site boundary conditions.
• Deliver executive-level site analyses to facilitate investment decision-making.
• Remain informed on evolving planning laws and policies across applicable jurisdictions.

Candidate Requirements

• Holds an accredited Master's degree in Architecture.
• Has at least 10 years’ experience in site selection and designing for extensive mission-critical or industrial infrastructures.
• Prior exposure to hyperscale data centres, micro-electronics, or similar critical infrastructure is advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of MEP space planning and infrastructure collaboration.
• Competent with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit software tools.
• Fluent in both English and Mandarin languages.
• Registration with the Town Planners Institute and LEED accreditation are beneficial additions.
• Prepared to travel regionally as project demands arise.
