Role Overview
We are seeking an Applied Physics Specialist with PhD-level expertise to help advance AI's understanding of physical principles. This contract opportunity offers flexible remote work, perfect for researchers or academics looking to contribute impactful AI training projects on their own schedules. No previous AI experience is necessary, only a strong background in applied physics.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop intricate physics problems at the level of PhD qualifying exams demanding multi-step reasoning and solid mathematical foundations across fields like quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics.
- Craft accurate, fully detailed step-by-step solutions, ensuring precise use of physical constants, units, and logical argumentation.
- Review AI-generated physics outputs to detect inconsistencies or violations of fundamental laws such as conservation of energy and boundary conditions.
- Provide comprehensive, constructive feedback aimed at enhancing AI models' physics-informed reasoning capabilities.
Candidate Profile
- PhD holder or near completion in Applied Physics, Physics, Engineering Physics, or related disciplines.
- Proficient knowledge across core physics domains: Classical Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Statistical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics.
- Exceptional communication skills to clearly articulate complex physical concepts and derivations.
- Meticulous attention to detail involving scientific notation, dimensional analysis, units, and logical proofs.
- Self-driven and comfortable working independently in an asynchronous remote environment.
- Prior experience in AI or data annotation is not required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in data annotation, quality control in data workflows, or scientific dataset evaluation.
- Familiarity with computational software such as Python (NumPy/SciPy), MATLAB, or COMSOL.
- Experience in designing academic assessments or research benchmarking.
