Role Overview

The Applied Machine Learning Engineer functions as a crucial link bridging innovative AI research and its commercial applications. This hands-on role involves the development, refinement, and deployment of machine learning models that generate tangible business benefits and enhance user interactions. The position requires technical depth combined with a customer-oriented mindset to deliver robust AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Go-To-Market teams including Account Executives and Solutions Architects to facilitate seamless ML solution integration and deployment for customers.
• Create compelling demos and proofs of concept to showcase AI capabilities.
• Develop and implement end-to-end AI applications tailored to meet client requirements.
• Support the internal ML platform by building features and rectifying bugs.
• Incorporate new machine learning models into existing platforms and client environments.
• Optimize model and system performance for efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with partners to enable joint AI solutions and ensure smooth cooperation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields.
• At least five years of software engineering experience, preferably in roles involving direct customer interaction.
• Advanced programming skills, especially proficiency in Python.
• Proven track record in leading and delivering complex technical projects emphasizing customer success.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to thrive in dynamic, cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in startup or high-velocity environments.
• Practical knowledge in fine-tuning machine learning models through supervised learning and reinforcement learning techniques such as RLHF or RFT.
• Strong grasp of generative AI, machine learning fundamentals, and infrastructure supporting enterprise deployment.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is from SGD 150,000 to SGD 191,000 annually.
